BAPTISM & CONFIRMATION (Youth)

Being either Baptised or Confirmed is a fantastic way to publically declare your faith in Jesus Christ. At GWAC we have the option for youth to be baptised or confirmed at a special service in November attended by Bishop Barbara Darling.

The Youth Course is run once per year and is for those aged 15 and above. Those interested in this course should complete the online Application Form below or speak with Gary McClellan (Associate Pastor - Youth) for more details.

The Program

The course will be held on Sunday afternoons between 4:30pm and 6:00pm in Meeting Room 3 at the St Barnabas Ministry Centre, 800 Waverley Rd, Glen Waverley. Participants are then expected to attend the 6:00pm Church Service.

Cost:

The full cost of the Youth Course is $20, which includes all course materials and some nibbles.

2010 Course Dates:

Session 1 - 10th October
Session 2 - 17th October
Session 3 - 24th October
Session 4 - 31st October
Session 5 - 7th November
Session 6 - 14th November

Attendance:

Attendance is expected at all sessions and Glen Waverley Anglican Church’s 6:00pm service. If one session is missed, a ‘catch-up’ will be organized. If two or more are missed, the candidate may be asked not to proceed with the course. Candidates are also expected to complete all home assignments, and any arranged “Mentor” meetings.

What to Bring to Each Session:

Bible (NIV or TNIV preferred)
Pen
Youth Manual (supplied at Session 1)
Every Day With Jesus Devotional (supplied at Session 1)

Mentors:

All candidates will be partnered with a Christian Mentor. A Christian Mentor is a mature Christian leader who will meet regularly with candidates. Their purpose will be to help disciple candidates, discuss Christian faith issues, and help candidates to answer any spiritual questions.

The Service:

The Baptism and Confirmation Service will be held at 6.00pm on Sunday 21st November at the St Barnabas Ministry Centre. Bishop Barbara Darling will be present to conduct the service. Friends and relatives are encouraged to attend the service to support the Candidates. Light refreshments will be served after the service.
