About the Groups
At Glen Waverley Anglican Church we have an enthusiastic team of IGNITE youth leaders who are all passionate about encouraging young people to grow in their understanding of Jesus and how he can impact their lives for eternity.
The youth ministry at GWAC is divided into two main areas; the Junior IGNITE Ministry (for youth in years 6 to 8), and the Senior IGNITE Ministry (for youth in years 9 to 12 - or equivalent aged workers. About the Youth Leaders
The youth leaders at Glen Waverley Anglican Church are second to none. Every leader is a committed Christian and seeks to live a life that pleases God. All leaders receive extensive training and mentoring by the paid staff at Glen Waverley Anglican Church. Regular National Police Record Checks through the Victorian Police Department are carried out, and the new Working With Children Check is now compulsory for all leaders. The youth leaders are regularly updated on, and follow, the strict protocols set out in the Anglican Churchs Duty of Care Handbook and our own GWAC Code of Conduct. Many of the leaders also have accredited First Aid and/or Bronze Medallion training.
