What is the HEARTBEAT spiritual course?

This four unit seminar mixes teaching, reflection, group work and homework in order to better understand who we are in God and how we have been created in order to serve. The course has been developed over the last 17 years, by our Senior Pastor, Drew Mellor.

During the four weeks, we will be seeking to interconnect the individual believer’s Heart, Spiritual Gifting and Personality. God has made us who we are. He has planted within us a HEART that leads (sometimes drives) us to serve in certain contexts.

It can be described as our heart’s desire, or burden for certain people or cultures. God has also GIFTED us with special abilities and attributes, through the Holy Spirit, to empower and enable us to exercise a particular ministry. Along with this, God has imprinted us with unique, individual characteristics that “make us who we are”. God’s spirit transforms us into the likeness of His Son, but we continue to deal with ideas, concepts and issues in a particular way because of our PERSONALITY.

When all three are acknowledged and we serve with due recognition of our Heart, Spiritual Gifts and take due account of our Personality, we will find fulfilling satisfying service. We will love doing the Lord’s
work – and He will use us wonderfully in His service.

During the final session, you will be introduced to your ministry broker, who will discuss with you ways in which you might better use the gifts God has given you.
