Journey along the Road
It has been encouraging to hear from many of you that the 'Journey along the road' teaching series in the gospel of Luke, has been of help to you as you live out what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
As we move into the month of April we head towards Easter and the tangible reminder of God's deep love for us, that is the Cross of Christ. The good news of the Kingdom of God is that in the event of the Cross of Christ, God has done something decisive and world changing and the world will be different because of it. Human sin has opened the door for evil and undermines God's purpose for his creation. The love of God, seen in Christ's death on the Cross, overcomes evil and the resurrection of Jesus Christ ushers in the reign and rule of God. What God has accomplished in Christ in his resurrection, has redemptive consequences for all of creation. The death and resurrection of Jesus points forward and we as disciples of Jesus, engage in 'good news' work, that is telling the story of God's redemptive purpose made real in Jesus Christ. We, the people of Glen Waverley Anglican Church, have a wonderful, unique opportunity to display the love of God for his creation as we tell the story of Jesus Christ, through words and in our lives and activity.
As we approach the holiday season known as Easter, let’s be looking and praying for opportunity to keep telling this great story of God's love. Let's together, celebrate Easter, Signed, Sealed, Delivered - Signed in the blood of Jesus, his body Sealed in a tomb and Kingdom life Delivered through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
Maz and I look forward to celebrating this great story of Jesus with you, and together with you, making this story real in the lives of those that we encounter.
Blessings and love,
