Behold, I will do a new thing
“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, shall you not know it?” (Isaiah 43: 19)
There is something so sweet and tender, yet so mighty, about God telling us He wants to do a NEW THING. He wants to remind us of the kinds of things He can do through His love, wisdom and power.
He does not want us to confine Him to what he has already done, or try to anticipate what He will do next.
He is our complete deliverer, making a way where there is no way.
His new thing will prepare us for whatever is to come, and out of it we will find new reasons to praise Him.
How can we be open to God’s new thing?
Walk in simple obedience. Keep on loving Jesus, praising the Lord every day. Feed on His word. Manage our life God’s way. Make a commitment to do the right thing, and pray, “Lord, work your will in me”. God calls us, not that He might manipulate us, but that He might bless us.
The Lord is calling us at GWAC to be open to a new “God Thing”. It shall ‘spring forth,’ it is sprouting – even now. He wants each of us to embrace it in our personal life, our family, our relationships and in our church. Our response to God is pivotal. God may be doing a new thing, but it can pass right by us – not because God is indifferent about our experiencing it and our being transformed by it, but because it calls for our participation, and He will never force anyone.
Join me in drawing nearer to the heart of God and inviting Him to do a new thing in us today. Don’t try to make it happen, but stand in expectancy. Because God is doing a new thing in GWAC and it’s coming our way.
